1. Meat City

Meattown aka. Kodbyen is by day the place to buy staples for restaurants or other food-related businesses. At night, it’s a social hotspot for downtown Copenhagen. There are several cool places worth visiting in Meat-town, such as the Karriere bar or Jolenes for a more hippie approach. It’s a much older crowd ranging from 25 to 30, the bar prices are mid to high and the music seems to be well thought out, compared to other places you might come across in Copenhagen. If you like an older crowd and a different experience then your typical nightclubs, then Meat-town isn’t a bad place to check out.

2. Heidi’s Beer Bar

The Heidi beer bar has 2 floors. Both floors have a foosball table, they offer a huge range of different beers so if you are a beer lover you will like this place. The crowd is older ranging from 24 to 28 and they have a fairly small but doable dance floor. It’s a dimly lit place and the bartenders are all neatly dressed in German maid attire. There is no entrance fee but there is a wardrobe fee of 20 kr. I usually sneak and drop my jacket at a table with a friend, I’m cheap.

3. Karel

Fullname Karel Van Mander is a nightclub located right next to the large Magasin shopping center and accessible from the pedestrian street or from the Kongs Nytorv metro street. Karel sets up an impressive looking club with an exquisite interior design and has probably the hottest girls in town, jostling around the room. They have a perfect outdoor area for the summer and a good sized dance floor in the middle. The music is mostly house and dance music with a mix of popular songs from the current era. The age range is from 18 to 25 years old. However, the age requirements change from Thursday to Saturday. Bar prices are unfortunately very high, but if you have the money to spend you won’t look better doing it anywhere than here. Karel can boost that they attract the hottest babes in Copenhagen, so if you’re looking to hook up with a nice little turbo, look no further than here. There’s an abundance of turbos here. The entrance fee is around 100 dkk, but a free wardrobe.

4. Happy Pig

The happy pig is located near skindergade. It has a fairly young crowd of 21-25 year olds. It has 2 dance floors on the top floor and also a live band area down stairs, where they regularly play live music. The bar prices are actually quite low and the people are generally quite friendly. There is a 20dkk wardrobe fee and it is not optional. They show football games, when there are big games on, so you might want to check that out, if football is your thing.

5. Francois Pony

Francis Pony is a student bar, but that doesn’t mean it’s slacking off in terms of style. It has a young but mature clientele usually ranging from 22 to 24 years old and most of them are business students or something equal to that. Bar prices are medium to high and it has 2 floors. There is no real dance floor, which would be impossible as the place is packed on weekends. If you are a student, this is a great place to socialize. Free entry and optional wardrobe. Drink prices are a little expensive so not the best place to warm up.
